There’s a new detention facility right in the middle of the Florida Everglades that’s going to make your jaw drop. As part of the tour, President Trump and Governor DeSantis talked up the facility’s remote, predator-filled surroundings as a security feature.
“Alligator Alcatraz” has 5,000 beds behind razor-wire fences and cages that look like Hollywood sets. Critics, including environmentalists and immigration advocates, call the plan inhumane and environmentally disastrous. One thing’s for sure: the Everglades just got a whole lot more complicated, whether you’re for or against Gator Gitmo.
