When you thought global politics couldn’t get any more unpredictable, Trump announced a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. After weeks of escalating strikes, missile barrages, and threats of all-out war, Trump stepped in with a midnight proclamation: “Complete and Total Ceasefire!” Amazingly, both sides have paused their missile exchanges for now.
Still, don’t get too comfortable yet: Iran still says there’s no formal agreement, Israel remains wary, and Trump even came up with a new slogan: “Make Iran Great Again.” Now that the dust has settled (literally and metaphorically), but let’s be real: in a region where ceasefires have the shelf life of an avocado, we’ll believe it when we (don’t) see it.

Until then, keep your eyes peeled and your expectations flexible—this isn’t over until the next tweetstorm hits.
Bonus: Defense spending will rise at NATO, but ally contributions will vary.
